<p>Overview</p> <p>Join our team as a day shift, full-time, Maintenance Plumber in Montclair, NJ.</p> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <p>Thrive in a People-First Environment and Make Healthcare Better</p> <ul> <li>Thrive: We empower our team with career growth opportunities, tuition assistance, and resources that support your wellness, education, and financial well-being. </li><li>People-First: We prioritize your well-being with paid time off, comprehensive health benefits, and a supportive, inclusive culture where you are valued and cared for. </li><li>Make Healthcare Better: We use advanced technology to support our team and enhance patient care. </li></ul> <p>Get to Know Your Team:</p> <ul> <li>Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>The Plumber will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal. </li><li>Maintain and repair plumbing systems carrying water and steam </li><li>Replace or mend broken pipes including clearing clogged drains on sinks and toilets </li><li>Repair or replace plumbing fixtures </li><li>Measure, cut, thread or bend pipe to the required angle, using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters and pipe treading machines </li><li>Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings using couplings, screws, bolts, or soldering and brazing equipment </li><li>Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, or fixtures such as sinks and toilets </li><li>Ability to snake out sanitary lines and water piping systems. </li><li>Locate and mark the position of pipes for installation using instruments such as rulers or levels </li><li>Perform preventative maintenance on all base building and critical equipment, which includes but is not limited to assembling all tools, supplies, and instruments necessary to complete the task </li><li>Perform work with a minimum amount of disruption and conduct immediate cleanup of the work area </li><li>Responsible for reporting problems or malfunctions </li><li>Maintain tools and order supplies as required for installation and repairs </li><li>Keep logs, document equipment repairs, close work orders, track time accurately in reports, and provide timely and constant communication with the facility maintenance management </li><li>Comply with department policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous waste materials </li><li>Assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment </li><li>Perform any and all other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>5-7 years of plumbing experience, preferably within a healthcare or institutional setting </li><li>Current and valid driver's license. </li><li>Available to work flexible hours and or on-call shifts as needed. </li><li>Ability to climb ladders and work in crawl spaces </li><li>Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions including but not limited to, hot, cold, outdoors, dry humid areas, heights, and congested areas </li><li>Knowledgeable in the use of tools and machinery required for this position </li><li>Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes </li><li>Able to lift 50lbs </li><li>Available to work flexible hours and or on-call shifts as needed. </li></ul>
