<ul> <li>Manage daily schedule for Dentist and Dental Hygienist, ensuring patients are scheduled appropriately per FHC guidelines. </li><li>Monitor waiting area to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner. </li><li>Prepare patients for dental procedures. </li><li>Open patient charts using electronic health records. </li><li>Assist dentist in the treatment of patients, anticipating dentist's needs and ensuring instruments and materials are accessible. </li><li>Conduct patient oral hygiene education and give oral instructions/demonstrations. </li><li>Clean and sterilize room after each use. Sterilize equipment per FHC policies and procedures. </li><li>Take x-rays as assigned using proper safety precautions. </li><li>Maintain adequate inventory of supplies in exam and treatment rooms. Report any equipment problems or concerns to the authorized person. </li><li>Comply with all applicable infection control and safety procedures. </li><li>Exhibit compliance with FHC's corporate compliance policy. </li><li>Perform job activities in ways that are respectful, courteous and responsive while interacting with patients, visitors and co-workers. </li><li>Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as apparent or as delegated to you. </li></ul> <p>This position is responsible for safeguarding Protected Health Information (PHI) and accessing such information only as necessary to perform assigned job duties. The employee must comply with all HIPAA privacy and security policies, maintain the confidentiality of patient information, and follow organizational procedures designed to prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure of PHI.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: Successful completion on an accredited dental assistant program, plus two years experience working as a dental assistant. Experience using electronic medical records is preferred.</p> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess ability to communicate in the dominant language of the geographic region. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Vision and hearing corrected to within normal limits is required. Must be independently mobile.</p>
