Duties often include supporting the physicians and/or mid-level providers in the practice with clinical activities and direct patient care as well as assisting patients and staff with the administrative and clerical needs of the practice.</p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Based on division of duties and work flow allocated, that day may include:</p> <ul> <li>Perform clinical duties within training scope and NYS regulations, including taking vital signs and assisting providers with procedures and patient care. </li><li>Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure medical supplies are stocked per protocols. </li><li>Manage patient communication, including prescription refills, test results, and clinical questions per practice protocols. </li><li>Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and required forms upon check-in. </li><li>Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, referrals, pre-authorizations, and additional testing or procedures. </li><li>Handle patient check-out, including printing visit summaries, collecting payments, and processing daily cash deposits. </li><li>Answer, direct, and triage incoming phone calls, including scheduling and patient inquiries. </li><li>Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives as needed. </li><li>Manage patient records, including scanning, fax monitoring, email communication, and maintaining documentation. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School or equivalent experience </li><li>1 year minimum experience in Microsoft Office Suite </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Previous medical office experience preferred </li><li>College-level training/education in a healthcare support field preferred </li></ul> <p>Location and Travel Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Onsite </li><li>CCMOB - 905 Hanshaw Rd Suite A </li><li>Full time - No weekends or holidays </li></ul> <p>Pay Range Disclosure</p> <ul> <li>$15-$23.50 per hour based on experience </li></ul> <p>Cayuga Health System and its affiliates are committed to treating all patients, providers, staff and volunteers equitably and with dignity, ensuring the highest levels of safety, care and respect, and striving to recognize and overcome biases and policies that contribute to disparities in healthcare access, equitable care and positive health outcomes for all.</p> <p>We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, supporting the growth and health of our employees and community by embracing the rich diversity, needs and circumstances of all peoples and prioritizing opportunities to build a diverse and inclusive workplace.
