Includes weekend and holiday call, and disaster team required</p> <p>Primary Function/General Purpose of Position</p> <p>Provides oversight and supervision to the Anesthesia Techs and Anesthesia Tech Team Leader. Responsible for developing policy and procedures for Anesthesia functions. Responsible for recruitment and training of Anesthesia Techs. Develops, administers, and assures Anesthesia Techs are maintaining competency levels. Interfaces with Chairman of Anesthesia and OR manager at each Health Care Facility to administer to the needs and expectations of the department.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li> <p>Adheres to hospital/department policies</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in the coordination of patient care: Assists MDs/CRNAs in planning patient care, Collaborates with other health team members, Participates in performance improvement activities</p> </li><li> <p>Implements patient care: Assists MDs/CRNAs, as directed, during induction of anesthetic and/or other agents, Responds to MD/CRNA directives, as directed during perioperative phase, Communicates patient information to the appropriate persons, Accounts for equipment and supplies used in patient care.</p> </li><li> <p>Interpersonal skills: Communicates with peers, other health team members, patients, visitors, Maintains adaptability, Supports unit team, Resolves problems, Consistently meets the department's Customer Service Quality Standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Clinical preceptor: Performs clinical preceptor role for anesthesia techs - collaborating with the anesthesia coordinator.</p> </li><li> <p>Care of environment and equipment: Maintains unit, maintains and cleans equipment. 10%</p> </li><li> <p>Assumes leadership role: Effectively problem solves, Serves as a role model, Supports staff, Completes performance reviews, Supports customer services, Supports clinical areas and leadership of those areas, Assists in planning and implementation of unit goals, Maintains open communication, Assists business manager with department financials, Encourages cost effectiveness, Maintains productivity, Scheduling dept. coverage, Timekeeping/payroll, Maintain inventory and equipment, Assist with dept. Frequent lifting/moving patients. Intermittent lifting, moving or carrying over 50 lbs. Frequent pushing or pulling over 50 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity. Constant reaching with hands/arms. Frequent talking or hearing. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Intermittent exposure to risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Moderate noise level in work area. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours. May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on the needs of the department.</p> <p>Skills</p> <p>Hard/Tech/Clinical Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of the Anesthesia Techs.
