<p>Job Title Graduate Assistant Department Student Involvement Essential Functions</p> <p>The Office of Student Leadership & Involvement in the Division of Student Life & Wellbeing is seeking a Graduate Assistant for the 2025-2026 year. Graduate assistantships represent a great opportunity to gain professional and academic experience that can be transferred to any area within higher education and beyond.</p> <p>Graduate assistantships are based on academic and/or professional excellence. Recipients receive tuition remission, a monthly salary, and subsidized health insurance to work approximately 20 hours per week on assigned professional responsibilities. Selection criteria will include matching past and current experience with requested skills by staff. This position will further the mission of the institution and division by enhancing the experience of all students on campus. Other duties may be assigned by the Executive Director of SLI. Responsibilities may include:</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Provide immediate support to student organizations regarding event submissions and MavSync support. </li><li>Assist with tracking and updating student organization registration and renewal processes. </li><li>Assist in development and coordination of training for student organization leadership, transition materials, and advisors. </li><li>Lead marketing initiatives for SLI from social media accounts, promotional material for events and programs, creation of flyers, graphics and creative materials, as needed. This includes distributing content, engaging with followers as needed, and managing website content. </li><li>Oversee departmental monthly newsletter including its development and distribution. </li><li>Responsible for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating program/departmental assessment and evaluation data. Will be expected to generate annual reports based on data collection as instructed. </li><li>Work and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, student organizations, and UNO community by fostering and facilitating campus and community outreach. </li><li>Initiate 1:1 direct student engagement to aid in the office's mission of "supporting everyone." </li><li>Manage the organization, recruitment, and communications for our departmental volunteer list. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>Graduate assistants must be in good academic standing, are expected to be enrolled in minimum 6 (six) credit hours in each of the fall and spring semesters and may not register for more than 12 credit hours without the approval of both their supervisor and Graduate Dean. Assistantships are not automatically renewable and are dependent upon assessment of work and classroom performance.</p> <p>Successful candidates will have excellent communication, problem-solving, organization, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects efficiently. Ability to work collaboratively with varied populations is a necessity. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is essential. Experience with event coordination and mentoring will be helpful. Must be professional, detail oriented, proactive, and willing to learn.</p> <p>Work Schedule Various hours between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, some evenings and weekends will be required Additional Duties</p> <p>Additional Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with planning and coordination of programming for SLI including signature events and other departmental events throughout the year. </li><li>Research other university initiatives and community opportunities that directly align with the mission and vision of SLI. </li><li>Participate in SLI committees, trainings, retreats, and general campus activities in support of the Division of Student Life and Wellbeing. </li><li>Other duties related to appointment may be assigned in the course of appointment. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>Must be admitted to a UNO graduate program.
