<p>Job Description: Special Education Coordinator</p> <p>Teacher Contract + 10 Extended Days</p> <p>Reports to: Director of Special Services</p> <p>General Summary:</p> <p>The Special Education Coordinator will assist in coordinating special education services across the district, support teachers in compliance with instructional best practices, and serve as a resource for students, staff, and families.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct support to special education teachers and related service providers. </li><li>Develop and implement professional development for teachers, staff, and families. </li><li>Ensure compliance with state and federal special education laws, including IEP development and implementation. </li><li>Serve as a resource to special education teachers, students, parents, and administrators. </li><li>Act as a liaison between schools and external service providers. </li><li>Assist in implementing the district's IEP system and alternative assessment processes. </li><li>Serve as case conference committee chairperson as needed. </li><li>Remain informed on current research and best practices in special education. </li><li>Coordinate CPI training and ensure staff certification in crisis prevention. </li><li>Work with private schools to develop appropriate programming for students with disabilities. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services or the Superintendent. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Bachelor's Degree (minimum) </li><li>Licensure: Valid Indiana Special Education Teaching License </li><li>Experience: Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting </li><li>Knowledge: Familiarity with IDEA, Article 7, and best practices for special education services </li></ul> <p>Contract Details:</p> <ul> <li>Teacher contract with up to 10 extended days </li><li>Mileage reimbursement </li></ul> <p>Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance</p> <p>LTD and Life Insurance</p> <p>INPRS Retirement</p> <p>Supplemental Insurance</p> <p>Virtual Urgent Care</p> <p>Employee Assistance Program</p> <p>All Athletic Pass</p> <p>Fit Stop24 Gym Membership</p>
