<p>The Performance Excellence Co-Op will support initiatives related to Sturdy Health's Strategic Plan that aim to improve business practices, processes, and system within the hospital and across our ambulatory medical group.</p> <p>The co-op's involvement with process improvement initiatives will include the various aspects of Lean process improvement, including but not limited to value stream mapping, data analysis, Kaizen events, and documenting standard work to sustain operational improvements.</p> <p>Education/Training:</p> <ul> <li>High School </li><li>College Student </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications and Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Lean concepts and applications </li><li>Human factors engineering </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications and Skills:</p> <p>Must have knowledge and understanding of:</p> <ul> <li>Systems Engineering </li><li>Healthcare Management </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <p>This position relies on excellent interpersonal, technical, and management skills to guide interdisciplinary teams through performance improvement initiatives by leveraging data to drive standardized, sustainable solutions.</p> <p>Under the direction of the Performance Excellence Director co-ops will be participants and independent contributors in the following activities:</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to a portfolio of process improvement projects in accordance with process improvement methodology including the following steps: </li><li>Participate in developing measurement plans for continuous improvement; </li><li>Communicate with team members and stakeholders; </li><li>Execute on improvement plans. </li><li>Develop project related deliverables with supervision, including process workflow diagrams, PowerPoint presentations, status reports, communication plans, meeting minutes, project plans/timelines. </li><li>Compose, edit and deliver written and verbal communications to key stakeholders as needed. </li><li>Facilitate customer relationships throughout the project life cycle. </li><li>Assist in the implementation of cross-functional process improvement interventions. </li><li>Complete quantitative and qualitative analyses to support the objectives of assigned projects and ensure completion of project objectives within agreed upon time frames. </li><li>Communicate across disciplines with clinical teams, such as nurses, the value and intent of process improvement and serve as an ambassador for Lean principles and practices </li></ul> <p>Other duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
