With an outstanding reputation for quality, the company has a broad portfolio of market leading products across a variety of categories.</p> <p>CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS: The AR Specialist will primarily focus on efficiently coordinating collection activities for our multiple businesses; reconciling customer accounts; handling customer calls and processing credit card payments. The position will report to the Accounts Receivable Manager and will work closely with the Accounting and AR team members.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor AR accounts to identify overdue payments. </li><li>Initiating contact with customers having past due accounts, determining reason, and arrange for collection. </li><li>Take actions to encourage timely debt payments. </li><li>Report and maintain accurate records on collection activity. </li><li>Resolve billing and customer payment discrepancies. </li><li>Maintain and update customer credit limits. </li><li>Monitor customers on credit holds. </li><li>Manage customer portals. </li><li>Process credit card payments and refunds. </li><li>Manage AR inboxes for customer issues/concerns/required documents. </li><li>Work closely with customer service and sales to resolve delinquent accounts. </li><li>Lead meeting with Sales Dept. for resolution of past due invoice. </li><li>Handle customer calls and process credit card payments. </li><li>Cash applications and customer account offsets. </li><li>Run AR Reports. </li><li>Review customer sales tax exemption certificates for accuracy and ensure compliance of tax exempt setup to internal policy. </li></ul> <p>RELATED DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Performs other duties, as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Training and Experience</p> <ul> <li>1-2 years of prior successful collections experience and other clerical accounting activities </li><li>High school diploma; some college or Associate Degree a plus; or an equivalent combination of education and experience </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Abilities and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Basic knowledge of accounts receivable processes, procedures, and best practices </li><li>High comfort level and capability with accounting systems and software as well as Microsoft Excel </li><li>Demonstrated ability to identify, elevate, and assist in the resolution of problems </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques </li><li>Familiarity with laws related to debt collection </li><li>Working knowledge of MS Office and databases </li><li>Knowledge of IFS preferable </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Manual dexterity and ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Office environment and occasional exposure to manufacturing plant environment, with some abnormal variations in temperature, unavoidable fumes, noise, dust and atmospheric conditions</p> <p>Pay Range: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour.</p> <p>The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position at the time of posting.
