<p>LPN for the Extended School Year Program, Monday through Thursday, July 7th through August 7th.</p> <p>The Licensed Practical Nurse will work under the supervision of the School Nurse Leader (RN) to provide care and support the health and well-being of students, administer medications, provide basic first aid, and manage the chronic health conditions of students with specific medical needs as outlined in their Individualized Health Care Plans (IHCP), Individualized Education Programs, &/or Section 504 Plans.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries and acute illnesses occurring during summer school hours. </li><li>Administer prescribed medications and treatments to students according to physician orders and parental consent, maintaining accurate documentation </li><li>Ability to interact with all students in a caring and compassionate manner </li><li>Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes, severe allergies, seizures, and/or GI tube feedings). </li><li>Assess students' health needs and make appropriate referrals to guardians, emergency services, or the Lead Nurse as necessary </li><li>Maintain comprehensive school health records, including maintaining an electronic log of the day's medical treatments in accordance with HIPPA and FERPA regulations. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising RN/School Nurse Leader, Building Principals, and/or Director of Pupil Personnel Services </li></ol>
