<p>What Research and Development Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health</p> <p>Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes.</p> <p>Research and Development Engineering is responsible for developing and implementing new products through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering and documentation practices.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The primary purpose of the Senior Engineer, R&D is to lead efforts to design, develop, test and refine new electromechanical medical devices for Cardinal Health. Specifically, this job assists in creation and improvements to devices such as enteral feeding pumps, thermometers and compression devices, among others. A significant amount of time in this job is spent working in computer-aided design packages to develop 3D CAD product models, specifications and drawings. As part of working in a cross-functional technical environment, this job requires coordination with manufacturers, business partners and vendors, worldwide to ensure project success.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead and participate in multi-departmental teams to manage product development projects, adhering to timelines, reporting status, and traveling as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Design, test, and troubleshoot new products for Six Sigma manufacturability, utilizing process simulations (e.g., injection molding) to predict and mitigate failures, and resolving design/production issues through advanced statistical analysis (e.g., ANOVA, Monte Carlo).</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure product quality and regulatory compliance by defining specifications, overseeing component manufacturing, conducting product verification/validation, and developing DHF documentation and test protocols compliant with FDA/QSR and European standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate product transfer from R&D to Manufacturing and coordinate effectively with external vendors and personnel on significant cross-functional programs.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field preferred</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of 2+ years related work experience desired</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently and as a member of a team</p> </li><li> <p>Project and Technical Knowledge</p> </li><li> <p>Concept Development & Product Design</p> </li><li> <p>Up to 20% travel</p> </li></ul> <p>What is expected of you and others at this level</p> <ul> <li> <p>Applies working knowledge in the application of concepts, principles and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks</p> </li><li> <p>Works on projects of moderate scope and complexity</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes action to resolve</p> </li><li> <p>Apply judgment within defined parameters</p> </li><li> <p>Receives general guidance and may receive more detailed instruction on new projects</p> </li><li> <p>Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy</p> </li></ul> <p>Anticipated salary range: $80,500 - $87,500</p> <p>Bonus eligible: No</p> <p>Benefits: Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Medical, dental and vision coverage</p> </li><li> <p>Paid time off plan</p> </li><li> <p>Health savings account (HSA)</p> </li><li> <p>401k savings plan</p> </li><li> <p>Access to wages before pay day with myFlexPay</p> </li><li> <p>Flexible spending accounts (FSAs)</p> </li><li> <p>Short- and long-term disability coverage</p> </li><li> <p>Work-Life resources</p> </li><li> <p>Paid parental leave</p> </li><li> <p>Healthy lifestyle programs</p> </li></ul> <p>Application window anticipated to close: 12/26/2025 *if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible.</p> <p>The salary range listed is an estimate.
