<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Advanced Practice Provider Neonatal ICU functions within the NICU and throughout the KCH service line and is an integral member of a multidisciplinary health care team.</p> <p>The APP functions primarily in the inpatient ICU setting managing the care of acute and chronically ill neonates. The APP is generally on a service aligned team and manages the day to day patient care from ICU to step down to discharge. In some instances, the APP may have responsibilities for this same patient population as they return for follow up in the outpatient setting. The APP may also play a role in the admission process including deliveries.</p> <p>The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring an environment of safe quality care. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.</p> <p>When applying, please upload any reference letters as a PDF under Specific Request 1.</p> <p>Who is UK Healthcare? The neonatal APP functions as a member of the NICU medical management team, under the supervision of Neonatology attending physicians. The APP should demonstrate professional practice behaviors; function as a team player; actively participate in case conferences, educational lectures, staff, and committee meetings; maintain continuing medical education; and keep appropriate licensure and certification current.</p> <p>Key Functions:</p> <p>High-risk deliveries and perform resuscitation</p> <p>Neonatal procedures</p> <p>Round with a multi-disciplinary team</p> <p>Develop daily plan of care, prescribe diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions</p> <p>Manage pre/post-operative care</p> <p>Collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team</p> <p>Communicate with patient/family/staff to promote continuity of care</p> <p>Assist with education of residents/students</p> <p>Highlights:</p> <p>State-of-the-art 90-bed Level IV NICU, regional referral center</p> <p>Fast-paced high acuity setting, including surgical service</p> <p>Delivery service of 2500 babies per year</p> <p>Approximately 40 percent of deliveries are high-risk</p> <p>24/7 neonatologist coverage</p> <p>No transport responsibility</p> <p>Flexible self-scheduling (12 and 24 hour shifts)</p> <p>Will hire experienced NNPs, experienced PAs, and new NNP graduates</p> <p>NICU tour link: https://youtu.be/HlDNT2wX0-k</p> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>Night shift differential</p> <p>Annual incentive bonus eligible</p> <p>Annual salary market adjustment eligible</p> <p>Annual CEU allotment</p> <p>Premium pay opportunity for overtime</p> <p>200% retirement match</p> <p>Link: https://hr.uky.edu/employment/working-uk/our-benefits</p> <p>Skills / Knowledge / Abilities</p> <p>N/A</p> <p>Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
