<p>DRIVER 1-SW/GM FLIP FLOP</p> <p>PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT</p> <p>SOLID WASTE/GENERAL MAINT.</p> <p>DRIVER I/ LIGHT EQUIPMENT OPERATOR / Flip-Flop</p> <p>This is a Full Time position with excellent benefits such as Health & Life Insurance and Retirement Plan</p> <p>Under general supervision, performs a variety of manual, semi-skilled and moderately complex duties in the construction, maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, curbs, storm drainage lines and street signs. Must be able to operate several types of construction equipment to perform excavating, grading, paving, and related duties of the maintenance department, ensuring safe and proper operation at all times. Must be able to assist driver operator and crew leader in performing daily maintenance duties. Operates equipment to mix, spread, compact and level paving materials including pavement rollers, soil tampers and bituminous distributors. Operates paint application machines to install crosswalks and other pavement markings. Occasionally operates backhoe and front end loader. Positions trucks for loading and drives tandem axle commercial vehicles to haul spoil to landfill or other materials. Will assist Solid Waste Division collecting loose leaves during leaf season. May perform manual labor in addition to operating equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must possess a valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and must remain valid and have the ability to drive as a condition of continued employment. Must have one to three years of experience operating various types of construction equipment with a high degree of skill and proficiency. City of Bartlett resident preferred, but not required. Will work in a non-smoking work environment. Must pass a background and driver's license check, and physical examination, including a drug screen. All applicants with a CDL must also register with the FEDERAL MOTOR CARRIER SAFETY ADMINISTRATION CLEARINGHOUSE.
