<p>Specialized work assisting in directing the Enrichment Section of the Animal Care and Control Division. Responsible for conducting training, handling animals, assessing animal behavior after intake, assisting in developing animal training and enrichment programs to increase animal adoptions, live release rate, and reduce euthanasia of animals. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Section Manager and is reviewed through conferences, written reports, and observation of results obtained.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:</p> <ul> <li>Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience with assessing animal behavior and in the handling and training of animals. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Preferred qualifications include:</p> <ul> <li>Two (2) years of experience working in a group with volunteers, </li><li>One (1) year of experience practicing the Dogs Playing for Life model in a shelter (must specify on application), </li><li>One (1) year of experience developing and implementing feline enrichment programs, and </li><li>Associate's or higher Degree in Animal Science. </li></ul> <p>CREATE USER PROFILE in PBC Online Application System at www.pbcgov.jobs.
