<p>Overview</p> <p>The Safety Manager will be in charge of evaluating all safety protocols followed at all 8 of Metalcraft's facilities, organize safety training for employees, reports problems to management, and train and grow the current safety team and program.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage and oversee current safety staff of 4. </li><li>Visit all Metalcraft locations and conduct safety audits and verify equipment and materials are up to standards </li><li>Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement corrective actions. </li><li>Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations </li><li>Work with safety team, executive team, and managers to inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions </li><li>Research and implement new materials handling processes </li><li>Analyze accident reports and evaluate injury case studies based on available facts </li><li>Prepare and conduct training sessions for all employees and vendors </li><li>Preparing and enforcing policies to continue to establish a culture of health and safety </li><li>Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.) </li><li>Research environmental regulations and policies and institute changes to ensure compliance </li><li>Track, record, and monitor incident metrics and apply findings </li><li>Oversee the applications for and receipt of necessary permits </li><li>Oversee work comp cases through all of our facilities </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience as a Safety Manager </li><li>Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines </li><li>Strong leadership, motivation, and conflict resolution skills </li><li>Ability to manage and supervise employees and hold accountable to safety standards and goals </li><li>Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats. </li><li>Ability to train, influence and motivate team members </li><li>Good computer skills are also required, as well as knowledge of manufacturing reporting and additional safety software. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree within Safety management or related field </li><li>5+ years' experience in safety </li><li>2+ years within metal fabrication environment </li><li>Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards </li><li>Valid qualifications in occupational health and safety </li></ul> <p>Metalcraft of Mayville is an Equal Opportunity Employer:</p> <p>Minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity</p> <p>PM17</p>
