<p>Headline Studio is seeking a skilled Story Producer to help research, develop, and produce compelling, narrative-driven projects based on the award-winning journalism from Advance Local's newsrooms. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about turning deeply reported stories into derivatives across film, television, and audio.</p> <p>The base salary range is $90,000 - $95,000 per year.</p> <p>What you'll be doing:</p> <ul> <li>Identify, research, and shape stories inspired by reporting from Advance Local's newsrooms around the country </li><li>Collaborate with the team to develop storylines, characters, and narrative structure </li><li>Assist in all aspects of story production from concept development through delivery </li><li>Coordinate tasks, deadlines, and content flow using Asana </li><li>Prepare pitch and production materials </li><li>Use WordPress to design, publish, and update content </li><li>Support multimedia efforts using AI tools and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or Acrobat) </li><li>Craft clear, compelling synopses, treatments, and story pitches </li><li>Ensure alignment with Advance Local's journalistic standards. </li><li>Work closely with newsroom editors, journalists, creative teams, and external partners. </li><li>Communicate effectively to meet goals and deadlines. </li></ul> <p>Our ideal candidate will have the following:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, film/TV production, or a related field-or equivalent professional experience </li><li>Minimum five years' experience, including background in entertainment storytelling or journalism </li><li>Strong writing skills with proven ability to translate reported facts into engaging narratives </li><li>Proficiency with WordPress, AI tools, Asana, and Adobe Creative Cloud </li><li>Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments </li><li>Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling multiple projects at once </li><li>Passion for journalism, storytelling, and connecting audiences with meaningful content. </li><li>Background in entertainment storytelling or journalism is a plus </li></ul>
