<p>Job Summary and Responsibilities</p> <p>As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.</p> <p>Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.</p> <p>Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.</p> <ul> <li>Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures. </li><li>Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider. </li><li>Obtain and record vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem. </li><li>May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. </li><li>Assist with scheduling patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing. </li><li>Assist with preparing, cleaning and sterilizing instruments and maintain equipment; keep patient exam rooms clean and orderly; dispose of contaminated items according to protocol. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or </li><li>High School GED General Studies, upon hire </li><li>Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire </li></ul> <p>Where You'll Work</p> <p>Welcome to Saint Joseph East, a 217-bed, full-service, community hospital located in a convenient setting in Lexington, Kentucky.
