<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Interventional Radiology Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations and clinical functions of the Interventional Radiology department. This leadership role ensures that all staff, processes, and equipment are functioning effectively to provide high-quality patient care while maintaining operational efficiency and safety. The IR Manager collaborates closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to support the successful delivery of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Departmental Management:</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Oversee daily operations of the IR department, ensuring a smooth workflow and effective communication among team members. <p></p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., DNV, ACR).</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement departmental protocols, procedures, and workflows to optimize patient care and departmental efficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage the staffing of the department, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of IR technologists and other support staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Clinical and Patient Care Oversight:</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Collaborate with interventional radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure the proper execution of interventional procedures. <p></p> </li><li> <p>Monitor patient care standards, ensuring that high levels of safety and quality are maintained throughout all procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide clinical leadership and education to staff to enhance patient care, reduce risks, and improve patient outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Quality Improvement and Safety:</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Implement and monitor quality assurance and improvement initiatives to ensure consistent, safe, and effective patient care. <p></p> </li><li> <p>Participate in regular audits and safety reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Investigate any incidents, errors, or safety concerns and work to implement corrective actions.</p> </li><li> <p>Financial and Budgetary Responsibilities:</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Manage the department's budget, including resource allocation, cost control, and financial forecasting. <p></p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and optimize the usage of supplies, equipment, and staffing to ensure efficient cost management without compromising quality care.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the procurement of new technologies and equipment based on budget and clinical needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Staff Development and Training:</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for the IR team, including in-service training and certifications. <p></p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that all staff are up-to-date on best practices, new technologies, and industry standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct regular team meetings to discuss department goals, patient care updates, and any relevant changes in procedures or technology.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaboration and Communication:</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Foster a collaborative environment with physicians, nurses, and other departments to ensure effective patient care and procedural planning. <p></p> </li><li> <p>Act as a liaison between the IR department and other hospital services, ensuring clear communication and coordination.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and present reports on departmental performance, quality outcomes, and other key metrics to senior management.</p> </li><li> <p>Regulatory Compliance:</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other safety and privacy requirements. <p></p> </li></ul> <p>Prepare for and participate in accreditation reviews and inspections, maintaining high standards of practice within the department.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <p>Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle high-stress situations. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of interventional radiology procedures, equipment, and industry standards. </li><li>Familiarity with regulatory requirements and healthcare accreditation standards. </li><li>Proficiency in managing departmental budgets and financials. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. </li><li>May need to lift or assist in the transfer of patients as required. </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, clinical environment with high levels of patient interaction. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>The IR Manager will work in a hospital or medical center setting, primarily within the Interventional Radiology department, with occasional administrative and off-site meetings. Work may involve exposure to radiation, patient handling, and emergency situations. Advanced certifications in Interventional Radiology (CV, IR, or related certifications) preferred.Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required.
