<p>Job Description</p> <p>Martin Transport, Inc. is seeking a hands on Sales and Operations Manager with transportation supervisory experience to lead and grow our Reserve, LA Terminal.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will display strong character and integrity and will be responsible for all safety, sales, and operational aspects of the terminal in accordance with company guidelines.</p> <p>This position requires a multitasking leader who is able to analyze and direct the changing dynamics of a 24/7 transportation terminal. The ideal candidate must be familiar with DOT compliance and maintenance and a minimum of 5 years of transportation experience supervising Class -A CDL drivers. Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred. A proven record of trucking and leadership experience is required.</p> <p>The terminal manager is responsible for all activities and all employees at his/her facility. The terminal manager is responsible for ensuring the operation is economically sound and safe and maintain the company image of honesty and integrity.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ensure the operation is profitable</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor expenses and control spending at the terminal</p> </li><li> <p>Eliminate wasteful activities and spending</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure the security of the facility and control of theft.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow procedures for the proper hiring, controlling, corrective action, and termination of employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Control hourly employees' schedules and overtime.</p> </li><li> <p>Control accessorial pay for drivers</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all documentation is properly filed</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure adequate drivers are available to meet customer needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure employees and drivers complete company training</p> </li><li> <p>Hold monthly safety meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain OSHA compliance and insure all OSHA training</p> </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <p>EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent. </li><li>(5) plus years of experience in a logistics/trucking environment. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to maintain effectiveness within a dynamic and fast paced environment with varied task requirements and changing demands. </li><li>Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, planning & organizational skills. </li></ul>
