<p>Overview</p> <p>Electric Boat's Facilities and Real Estate Department is searching for an individual to fulfill the important role of Facilities Capital Projects Representative / Program Representative. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing and supporting shipyard capital expansion, renovation and improvement projects of ocean assets.</p> <p>Listed below are some of the many responsibilities for which this individual will be responsible:</p> <ul> <li>Provide overall project management duties in the development, design, execution, and closeout of ocean asset new capital and/or capital renovation / improvement projects </li><li>Develop engineering and design requirements, generate scope requirements, and front end engineering documents to enable capital project design kickoff(s) </li><li>Participate in the formation and administration of design, consultant, and shipbuilder / contractor / construction manager agreements required to execute capital expansion, renovation and improvement projects of ocean assets </li><li>Lead diverse, multi-functional teams in the design and construction of capital expansion projects, including but not limited to internal Company teams, third party / Owner project managers, engineers, shipbuilding companies, material testing agencies, construction managers, general contractors, and suppliers </li><li>Work to establish and maintain capital budgets including submitting monthly accruals, budget forecasts, and reconciliation of actuals; provide explanations for variances and any proposed adjustments </li><li>Maintain project budget and schedule for all project team including internal Company and external contractors and vendors </li><li>Work with Facilities' leads and management, complex system end users and particularly business unit leaders to ensure that objectives are being met; coordinate duties with Real Estate and Facilities' leadership </li><li>Regular inspection of ocean asset capital projects with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to review quality of work and adherence to contractual requirements and standards </li><li>Coordinate project management requirements with Legal; Environmental, Health, and Safety; Security, Fire Department; and Real Estate and Facilities, as well as with operational groups </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or Architecture </li><li>1-3 years of experience in the area of ocean engineering, naval architecture, building construction, real estate development, facility management, design, or engineering </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in development, design, and construction of commercial ocean asset(s) </li><li>Strong project management and personnel management skills </li><li>Ability to motivate and lead multi-disciplinary project management, design, and construction teams </li><li>Strong negotiation, budget, and schedule management and reporting skills </li><li>Proficiency in understanding design and construction documents </li><li>Proficiency in submittal and RFI creation, review and disposition </li><li>Ability and experience to effectively use Microsoft programs including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project </li></ul>
