<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>To provide behavior analysis services and behavior management plans for special education students enrolled in educational programs; provide support and professional learning to school site staff, instructional assistants/ABA technicians, and parents/guardians in appropriate behavior intervention techniques; conducts assessments and develops plans that conform to IDEA, Massachusetts law and regulations and other applicable statutes and regulations</p> <p>Knowledge:</p> <ol> <li>Ability to develop and communicate detailed behavior management plans with rationale for implementation based on a functional behavior assessment </li><li>Ability to interpret statistical data in relation to behavioral scales </li><li>Ability to apply common sense understanding and to communicate options and solutions when several variables exist. </li><li>Communicate effectively, orally and in writing; ability to read, write, speak and understand English </li><li>Commitment to remain current in field of knowledge, best practices and laws governing behavioral supports for students with disabilities </li><li>Establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with students, their families, colleagues and supervisors. </li></ol> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>Develop materials and provide resources for and provide professional development for administrators, educators, instructional assistants, ABA technicians, and parents/guardians in Applied Behavior Analysis and/or other evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavior difficulties </li><li>Plan and oversee the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of ABA for students with autism and other disabilities </li><li>Conduct behavior assessments requiring their expertise (e.g. functional analysis and/or functional behavior assessments of ongoing problem behavior not appropriately or sufficiently addressed with less intensive interventions) when those assessments cannot appropriately be completed by another member of the school staff </li><li>Develops and maintains behavioral data and creates graphical data representations and reports for progress monitoring on a monthly basis of students with disabilities. </li><li>Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of behavior support plans and programming </li><li>Assists primary liaison for student's case in monitoring and reporting on student's behavioral progress through data analysis and observation </li><li>Provides initial and ongoing training to support staff to implement behavior support plans and data collection systems in conjunction with liaisons </li><li>Assists in the development and implementation of IEPs </li><li>Serve as a consistent resource to classroom teachers, special education teachers, and IAs/ABA technicians </li><li>Travel from site to site and/or perform necessary home visits for the purpose of providing direct treatment, consultation, and collaboration for students and families. </li><li>Supervise BCBA candidates, IA/ABA staff and/or Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) within the Northbridge Public Schools, as appropriate </li><li>Participate in required professional development, such as physical restraint training, CPR/First Aid certification, and staff meetings and extended day sessions </li><li>Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services </li></ol> <p>Evaluation: The BCBA shall be throughout the school year by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services and/or their designee based on the knowledge and responsibilities detailed in the job description.</p> <p>Salary & Benefits: Education level and experience in the role of BCBA will be considered. Salary to be negotiated with the Superintendent of Schools</p> <p>Employment Terms: School year, including teacher meeting day and all professional development days, as determined by the Northbridge Public Schools School Committee and Superintendent of Schools; Daily hours to be determined by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services; The Extended School Year (ESY) program runs up to five (5) weeks during the months of July and August. Days and hours to be scheduled between the BCBA and the Director of Pupil Personnel Services, based on student needs.</p>
