<p>Description</p> <p>The Part-time Professor of Nursing shall report to theDirector of Allied Health and Nursing. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Supervising and evaluating nursing students in clinical, laboratory, and simulation for students enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing Program; </li><li>Assist with set up and take down of labs and simulations; </li><li>Delivering specified didactic content in the classroom. </li><li>May serve on various campus committees as assigned. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned or required </li><li>Nothing contained herein shall limit the President in assigning the employee to any of the various college activities for which he/she would be qualified in order to meet the needs of New Mexico Junior College. </li></ul> <p>Additional Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelors of Science in Nursing is required</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of two years clinical experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Active New Mexico Registered Nursing license or Multi-state license.</p> </li><li> <p>Recent experience in the clinical setting (within the past 3 years).</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA policies in accordance with New Mexico Junior College's policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to demonstrate a respectful, supportive attitude towards nursing students and faculty.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in a team atmosphere and collaborate with nursing faculty regarding student needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred Qualifications (not required):</p> </li><li> <p>Masters of Science in Nursing is preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Bilingual (English/Spanish)</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of two years of teaching experience at the college level</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Canvas LMS</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>GENERAL FACULTY QUALITIES</p> <p>Applicants:</p> <ul> <li>Should be informed and support the value and concept of a Comprehensive Community College. </li><li>Should be informed and expected to participate in educational practices that promote student </li></ul> <p>success.</p> <ul> <li>Must commit to fully understand, support, and participate in the New Mexico Junior College Assessment of Student Learning Guide. </li><li>Must commit, support, and participate in successful, data-driven, high impact </li></ul> <p>practices of Student Engagement.</p> <ul> <li>Must commit to the utilization of data and information as a means of inquiry and </li></ul> <p>improvement of student learning outcomes.</p> <ul> <li>Must embrace a Faculty Evaluation system and Professional Development system that supports and promotes data driven student improvement. </li><li>Must be willing to support and hold themselves accountable to the outcomes defined as, </li></ul> <p>"excellence in education" by New Mexico Junior College.</p> <ul> <li>Must commit to the incorporation of Academic Goal Setting and Planning into the courses they teach. </li><li>Must commit and embrace early alert, intervention strategies and grade reporting through the Canvas system. </li><li>Must have a grasp of assessment and the part it plays in course, departmental, and </li></ul> <p>institutional evaluation and direction.</p> <p>SPECIFIC FACULTY QUALITIES</p> <p>Applicants:</p> <ul> <li>Must engage students in the learning process. </li><li>Must address multiple learning styles with a communication style that is stimulating, </li></ul> <p>well organized, and based on a deep knowledge of the content area.</p> <ul> <li>Must see creative ways to support and engage part-time students. </li><li>Must meet the needs of a diverse student body. </li><li>Must seek ways to provide supplemental instruction. </li><li>Must have open access to students during office hours </li><li>Must promote and support the New Mexico Junior College Academic Success Center and the academic coaching it provides. </li><li>Must have openness with, and an interest in, the students in their classes. </li><li>Must design mechanisms to communicate frequently and often with students. </li><li>Must have a grasp of innovative delivery methods. </li><li>Must seek to meet or exceed the institutional, departmental, and course student learning outcomes. </li><li>Must be of sound character and committed to New Mexico Junior College. </li></ul> <p>In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.</p> <p>This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.</p> <p>This is a part-time position. Pay is $45.00/hr. up to 29 hours/week and may include some evenings and weekends. Must be able to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week when needed.</p> <p>Application Deadline:</p> <p>Open until position filled. Candidates should be able to work within a team-teaching concept. Computer proficiency required with skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Canvas proficiency desirable. </li></ul>
