<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center, 250 Dewey Ave, Spartanburg, SC 29303.</p> <p>The Office of Mental Health's mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.</p> <p>As the Mental Health Professional, working under limited supervision, you will provide rapid and mobile crisis intervention services in cooperation with county first responders to individuals who are best reached in their communities in order to efficiently meet needs for immediate safety/de-escalation and referral to appropriate level of follow up care. Provide service in a culturally sensitive manner.</p> <p>Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional:</p> <ul> <li>Provide emergency assessments of clients experiencing crisis. Conduct face-to-face consultations as needed, with the expectation of arriving no later than 60 minutes after the receipt of the call. Participate in on-call rotation and help to ensure that all on-call shifts are covered. </li><li>Serve as a provider of crisis intervention services by administering brief individual and/or family therapy to address the crisis situation and to identify triggers for crisis behavior (to include development of a crisis safety plan up to initiating the process of involuntary commitment). </li><li>Participate in Intake/Mobile Crisis treatment meetings, individual supervision, and group supervision. Serve as liaison to the local CMHC to provide updates on SAMHC clients. Educate community response partners on the specifics of the Mobile Crisis program and helps develop program protocols in conjunction with county response agencies. </li><li>Comply with all application Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance, and Cultural Competency policies, procedures, and regulations, and all Federal and State Laws, as well as attend trainings classified as mandatory by Federal and State regulations. </li></ul> <p>.For MHP Student Loan Repayment:</p> <p>This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field. </li></ul> <p>In order to be credentialed for core services as Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patients care. The experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience.
