<p>The Department of Public Works is hiring an Engineer II/III to join our team. This position leads the development and review of plans, scopes, and specifications; oversees staff and consultants; and provides essential engineering and management support to ensure the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of public facilities. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer to take on a diverse and rewarding role supporting municipal operations that impact 186 city facilities.</p> <p>This position will be filled as an Engineer II or an Engineer III depending on licensure, experience and qualifications of the selected applicant. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of duties of a complex nature related to maintenance repair and replacement of city facilities and operational systems and equipment. Candidates must be adept at working on multiple projects, self-motivated, highly organized, and possess excellent writing and communication skills. Representative work duties include but are not limited to:</p> <p>Apply project management techniques for various projects to ensure projects are delivered within their scope, schedule, and budget constraints.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prepare designs, specifications, and contracts for municipal building projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Administer construction contracts to ensure they are completed within budget, comply with contract provisions; negotiate change orders, maintain records, and prepare reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Review and inspect construction in progress to ensure the methods, materials, and equipment conform to approved standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct field inspections and interpret contract requirements.
