<p>The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for a Custodial Supervisor in the Engineering Department.</p> <p>Responsibilities: Supervises, coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed to custodial staff. Creates schedules for events and submits to Facilities Superintendent for approval, reviews weekly timesheets, submit monthly reports, orders supplies, and other various administrative duties as requested. Sets and follows the standards for a high level of care, appearance, sanitation and cleanliness of City facilities. Inspects behind other custodians to ensure proper levels of attention are being given and standards are being met, provides coaching and support as needed. Ensures cleaning materials and supplies are kept in stock, stored safely and securely and orders as necessary. Also monitors for waste and theft, comparing usage by location. Recommends changes or improvements to cleaning practices as necessary to maintain clean and presentable facilities. Serves as first point of contact for Custodial staff and acts as backup coverage during staff time off. Cleans the interior of City buildings and Jail which includes vacuuming floors, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trashcans, cleaning office and conference rooms, mopping floors, washing windows, cleaning jail cells, and cleaning doors and walls. Performs general building maintenance duties occasionally as needed, such as fixing lights, changing batteries, dealing with plumbing problems, and assisting with lifting boxes and other moving duties. Utilizes various equipment and machinery such as buffer, vacuum cleaner, and various cleaning supplies and chemicals. Performs numerous tasks and duties to maintain the floors such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, cleaning carpets, buffing, waxing, etc. Empties garbage and trash containers on a regular basis; keeps containers clean and sanitary. Maintains the cleanliness of walls, windows, and furniture as needed by washing, dusting, waxing, or buffing. Maintain general maintenance of City council chambers to include tables, chairs, and floors. Maintains the restrooms in a clean and sanitary manner to promote hygiene; replaces soap, toilet tissue, paper towels, etc. as necessary. Communicates verbal and written information with Facilities Superintendent and the public to provide assistance, receive instructions, exchange information, and complete daily job-related activities. Utilizes a variety of tools and equipment in the performance of job including brooms, mops, cleaners, buffers, keys, disinfectants, insecticides, vacuums, carpet cleaners, hand scrapers, scrubbers, etc. Runs errands as needed.</p> <p>Job requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Have an OSHA10 or higher certification or be able to obtain within 6 months. Complete 100 Hours of Red Vector training on custodial related topics such as chemical safety, bloodborne pathogens, and back injury prevention, etc. Two (2) years of experience in custodial or maintenance duties or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have a valid state-issued driver's license and good driving record.</p> <p>Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with additional hours as needed</p> <p>Salary: Minimum $24.39 hourly; dependent on experience</p> <p>In addition to a competitive base pay, we currently offer comprehensive benefits package that includes health, prescription, vision, dental insurance (at no cost for employee coverage based on full participation in Wellness Program), life insurance, long-term disability, vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, FSA, EAP, Education Incentive Pay, and a defined benefit retirement plan (South Carolina Retirement System).</p> <p>The City of Greer is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
