<p>Description</p> <p>This role is an integral part of a successful transition for incoming NCF students. This position offers the unique opportunity for growth and to foster a positive New College atmosphere. This role will be instrumental in facilitating the Orientation program in conjunction with the New Student Programs</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li> <p>Facilitate new student's introduction to the College by maintaining an open, helpful attitude and suing effective communication techniques</p> </li><li> <p>Answer questions both social and academic aspects of the New College experience</p> </li><li> <p>Be able to attend the spring and summer training prior to Orientation</p> </li><li> <p>Be on time when expected</p> </li><li> <p>Promote interaction among groups of new students during small group discussions, icebreakers, meals and activities</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate small group interactions on various topics including mini-classes, contracts, and student life</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise activities among new students through direct involvement and participation</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely and cooperate with other OLs and New Student Program staff to develop, prepare, implement, and evaluate Orientation programs. OLs will also work closely with other student leaders on campus including but not limited to Resident Advisors, Peer Mentors, and NCSA Representatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Be available in person to lead student Orientation groups and allotted other duties</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Possess excitement for NCF and the campus culture with a strong desire to aid in the successful transition for NCF students and their families</p> </li><li> <p>Agree to abide by professional and ethical standards of conduct, including but not limited to College regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of team members and diverse populations of students and families</p> </li><li> <p>Possess a willingness to learn new things and be adaptable to changing plans if the need arises</p> </li><li> <p>Possess the ability to learn about NCF systems and the inner workings of the College</p> </li><li> <p>Act in a leadership role within your small group setting and take ownership of extra duties assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Possess the ability to address crowds and give directions to incoming students</p> </li><li> <p>Must be in good conduct standing with the college</p> </li><li> <p>Must satisfy your contract for the Spring 2024 term</p> </li><li> <p>Must be a full-time undergraduate student and must not graduate prior to the Fall 2024 semester.</p> </li></ul>
