Located about an hour's drive from urban destinations like Tampa and St. Petersburg, Sarasota is an exhilarating coastal retreat.</p> <p>As one of 12 universities in the State University System of Florida and the State of Florida's designated honors college, New College provides an exceptional undergraduate education that transforms students' intellectual curiosity into extraordinary personal accomplishment.</p> <p>New College invites applications for the position of Police Communications Operator.</p> <p>This is a non-sworn law enforcement position operating dispatch phones, radio and computer systems in a public safety communications center involving computerized radio dispatching.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>A high school diploma orGED.</p> <p>Prefer one year of appropriate experience which can include college coursework or vocational/technical training. Proficiency in typing. Ability to effectively communicate and function in high stress situations.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Will provide certification inNCIC/FCICcomputer system and applicant will receive 911 telecommunications certification with training provided within the first year of employment.
