Patients are seen at the bedside or in outpatient settings as assigned. Involved in all aspects of care including but not limited to team meetings, family meetings and goals of discussions. Staff support is provided through 1:1 encounters and group gatherings in the units and other locations as needed. Also charged with developing and leading hospital-wide and community faith-specific and interfaith services. Work as team members in accordance with the department's mission and vision statements.</p> <p>Does this position require Patient Care? Yes</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Counsel individuals or groups concerning their spiritual, emotional, or personal needs. </li><li>Share information about religious issues by writing articles, giving speeches, or teaching. </li><li>Respond to requests for assistance during emergencies or crises. </li><li>Visit people in homes, hospitals, or prisons to provide them with comfort and support. </li><li>Administer religious rites or ordinances. </li><li>Periodic weekend and/or remote on-call coverage </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li> <p>A graduate degree in divinity, theology, religious studies, ministry, counseling or a related field suitable for hospital chaplaincy from an institution accredited as a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.</p> </li><li> <p>Two or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education from an accredited CPE training program. Four units preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <p>Minimum: Two or more years of work experience in a hospital setting or two years of relevant spiritual, ministry, pastoral or congregational experience.</p> <p>Preferred: Two years of work experience post-CPE in a Level 1 Trauma Center.</p> <p>Certifications</p> <p>Preferred: Board Certified, or eligible for Board Certification by a recognized national body (APC, NACC, etc.) within three years of start date and Board Certified in good standing with a recognized National Body (APC, NACC, etc.) within three years of start date.</p> <p>For the ordained: Endorsement for hospital Chaplaincy from the ecclesiastical body to which the candidate belongs.</p> <p>Additional Job Details (if applicable)</p> <p>Remote Type</p> <p>Onsite</p> <p>Work Location</p> <p>75 Francis Street</p> <p>Scheduled Weekly Hours</p> <p>0</p> <p>Employee Type</p> <p>Per Diem</p> <p>Work Shift</p> <p>Rotating (United States of America)</p> <p>EEO Statement:</p> <p>The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
