<p>Position Title:</p> <p>Postdoctoral Research Associate - Biomass Degradation Mechanisms</p> <p>Appointment Type:</p> <p>Post Doc/Trainee</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>This position will lead a new research collaboration with Ames Lab focused on studying the mechanisms of biomass degradation using multimodal imaging techniques. This position will specifically focus on the use of single-walled carbon nanotubes to assist in measuring biomass. They will work with other graduate students to measure biomass degradation using custom single-molecule imaging techniques and surface probe microscopy.</p> <p>Required Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>PhD in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years </li><li>Experience working with fluorescent carbon nanotube-based sensors. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with biomass degradation problems. </li></ul> <p>Department/Program & College Description:</p> <p>In 1913, Iowa State University was among the first to offer a degree in what was then a new discipline - chemical engineering.
