We are committed to serving the community and treat our patients as family.</p> <p>Surgical Technologists, sometimes called "scrub techs," assist with procedures under the supervision of surgeons and RNs, helping ensure quality patient care before, during and after the operative procedure. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks, such as checking supplies and equipment, setting up sterile tables, passing instruments to the surgeon and sterilizing instruments after procedures. This position offers a unique way to gain hands-on experience in an operative environment while making a lasting difference in the lives of patients and caregivers every day. Ultimately, surgery could not be possible without your support.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM - 3:30PM, with varying start times and some later evening shifts.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li>Assist surgeons in the scrub capacity. </li><li>Scrub, gown and glove caregivers. </li><li>Set up tables with instruments and supplies. </li><li>Anticipate the needs of the surgeon, including instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies. </li><li>Assist in preparing and draping patients and operative areas. </li><li>Understand and maintain aseptic technique. </li><li>Count instruments, sponges and needles with a circulating RN and report correctness and discrepancies. </li><li>Assist in applying dressings and casts. </li><li>Assemble all instruments and equipment for decontamination. </li><li>Assist with maintaining equipment, routine terminal cleaning, housekeeping duties, room inventory and stocking supplies. </li><li>Assist the surgical team as a circulator under the direction of an RN. </li><li>Assist in transporting patients and preoperative preparation. </li><li>Assume call responsibility. </li><li>Transitional team duties: remove trash from OR, wash out trash cans, wash tables and furniture, move tables and furniture, wipe all flat surfaces, spot clean walls, clean floors and clean and stock anesthesia equipment. </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Successful completion of a Surgical Technology Program accredited through CCAAHEP or ABHES OR Certification as a Surgical Technologist (TS-C or CST) OR completion of a military Surgical Technology Program OR state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Surgical Technologist Certification from an accredited Surgical Technology Program </li></ul> <p>Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
