Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Medical Physicist II - PRN to provide onsite clinical physics support during a temporary vacancy. This is a unique opportunity to work full-time hours in a PRN role while collaborating with a highly skilled team and utilizing cutting-edge technology.</p> <p>About Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System</p> <p>Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (SRHS) is a nationally recognized health system serving Upstate South Carolina and surrounding communities. Our Radiation Oncology department is dedicated to delivering exceptional cancer care through advanced treatment techniques and innovative technology.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Spartanburg site is staffed by 5 radiation oncologists, 2 physicists, 2 medical dosimetrists, and 7 radiation therapists, caring for approximately 60 patients daily. We offer an active HDR program for prostate and GYN treatments, along with VMAT, SRS, SBRT, LDR GammaTile, and rectal spacer procedures.</p> <p>Equipment includes:</p> <ul> <li>Aria/Eclipse </li><li>2 Varian TrueBeams </li><li>Identify surface guidance system </li><li>Elekta/Nucletron Flexitron HDR with Oncentra TPS </li><li>Siemens Somatom CT simulator </li></ul> <p>What You Will Do</p> <ul> <li>Provide clinical physics support for Radiation Oncology, including oversight of treatment planning and technical delivery </li><li>Consult with Radiation Oncologists on special procedures and setups </li><li>Ensure calibration and functionality of treatment systems per national standards </li><li>Assist with Brachytherapy implants, planning, and treatment oversight </li><li>Perform weekly chart reviews, treatment assessments, and chart closures </li><li>Maintain operating procedures to reduce downtime and ensure treatment accuracy </li><li>Collaborate with Radiation Safety Officer for equipment QA and compliance with DHEC regulations </li><li>Support acquisition and implementation of new technologies and research protocols </li><li>Provide clinical instruction to therapy staff and assist with national certifications and quality initiatives </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Education: DMP or PhD in Medical Physics or related Physics field </li><li>Experience: 7 years of clinical practice, including HDR and rectal spacing experience </li><li>Certifications: </li><li>ABR </li><li>Continuing education per AAPM and ABMP </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>10 years of clinical practice with HDR and rectal spacing experience </li><li>Ability to immediately work with ARIA, Eclipse, and Nucletron HDR systems </li><li>ABMP/ABR certification </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <ul> <li>Work with advanced technology in a leading Radiation Oncology department </li><li>Collaborate with a highly skilled team dedicated to excellence in cancer care </li><li>Enjoy full-time hours in a flexible PRN role </li><li>Make an immediate impact on patient care and departmental success </li></ul> <p>Apply today and help us deliver life-changing cancer treatments at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System!</p>
