This role offers a unique opportunity to support patients through various care activities, from admission to discharge, and assist with treatments and procedures that contribute to their overall well-being. Your care will help create a safe, comfortable environment for our patients and ensure they receive compassionate, timely support.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Patient Care Services:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Admission & Discharge Support: Assist with setting up patient rooms, orienting patients, and recording basic patient information. Support patients during discharge by ensuring a smooth transition.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Care Activities: Provide personal care to patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, and bed making. Assist with feeding, ensuring patients are prepared for meals, and handling meal trays.</p> </li><li> <p>Patient Mobility: Assist with turning, positioning, lifting, transferring, and ambulating patients, including those with chest tubes or other medical needs. Support range of motion exercises and ensure patient comfort during mobility.</p> </li><li> <p>Vital Signs & Monitoring: Take and record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and patient weight. Monitor and document any changes in patient condition.</p> </li></ul> <p>Patient Care Treatments & Procedures:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Skin & Wound Care: Assist with skin care, including cleaning and applying skin products as directed by the RN. Perform dressing changes, apply hot/cold treatments, and assist with suture/staple removal.</p> </li><li> <p>Procedure Support: Help with procedures such as catheter insertion/removal, blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, IV site observation, and assisting with deep vein thrombosis prevention. Document patient data and observations as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Specimen Collection & Care: Collect and handle specimens, including urine, stool, sputum, and cultures. Assist with ostomy care, including bag emptying and dressing changes.</p> </li></ul> <p>Emergency & Isolation Care:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Emergency Procedures: Respond to emergency situations, including calling Code Blue, preparing equipment, performing CPR, and using an AED.</p> </li><li> <p>Isolation Precautions: Follow and implement standard and isolation precautions to ensure patient and staff safety.</p> </li></ul> <p>Patient Support & Environment Maintenance:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Patient Interaction: Address patient calls and concerns promptly, ensuring a compassionate response. Observe and report any changes in patient behavior, condition, or concerns from family or visitors.</p> </li><li> <p>Transport & Supplies: Assist with transporting patients and ensuring necessary supplies and equipment are available and in working order. Maintain supply levels and organize patient care areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Cleanliness & Equipment Care: Keep patient care areas clean, ensuring linens are changed, and commodes and other equipment are emptied and sanitized.</p> </li></ul> <p>General Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Collaboration & Support: Assist with department activities and other tasks as assigned to contribute to the overall success and functioning of the unit.</p> </li><li> <p>Continuous Learning: Participate in departmental training, education programs, and maintain personal competencies to ensure quality care and compliance with department standards.</p> </li></ul> <p>Organizational Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education & Competency: Attend department meetings, complete mandatory education, and maintain required certifications, including Basic Life Support (BCLS/CPR).</p> </li><li> <p>Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, including universal precautions and infection control protocols.</p> </li><li> <p>Flexible Availability: Willingness to work overtime or adjust shifts as needed to support patient care and unit needs.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 17 years old.
