<p>The City of Lansing Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications to fill several Part-Time Parks Caretaker positions. The goal of this position is to maintain the quality of public parks, facilities, gardens, etc. This is a terrific opportunity for those who enjoy working outdoors during the spring and summer months.</p> <p>Act now to become a valued member of our department! </p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Opening and closing public parks, restrooms and pavilions </li><li>Placing picnic table reservation signs on groups of tables using information provided by administrative staff </li><li>Monitoring the public use of parklands, facilities, gardens, picnic areas, etc. </li><li>Assisting in the maintenance of municipal properties by performing a wide range of manual laboring tasks in buildings, parking ramps and parks </li><li>Performing building custodial tasks </li><li>Performing basic building tasks including; measuring and cutting material using hand and power tools, performing painting work </li><li>Drives an automobile or pick-up truck as required. </li></ul> <p>Ideal candidates will possess the following:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 18 years or older </li><li>Experience in landscaping, planting flowers and laying turf preferred </li></ul> <p>Special Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Work schedule will include weekend, evening hours and may include holidays </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to operate standard transmission vehicles </li><li>Ability to lift 50 pounds on occasion </li><li>Ordinarily works less than forty (40) hours per week (work schedule and hours vary) </li></ul> <p>City of Lansing's Anti-Religious Discrimination and Religious Accommodation Policy</p> <p>City of Lansing Anti-Retaliation Policy</p>
