<p>About Boston Prep</p> <p>Boston Prep is a college-preparatory charter public district, made up of a single-site middle and high school. In 2025-2026, our community will include 700 students in grades 6-12, nearly 500 alumni, over 150 faculty members, and hundreds of families. The majority of our students and families reside in Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. As a charter public school, we welcome all students via an impartial public lottery, and hold the same high expectations and ambitions for all of our students, including those with special needs and English language learners.</p> <p>Mission</p> <p>At Boston Prep, our mission is to prepare students to succeed in a four-year college and embody, in thought and action, lifelong ethical growth. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our students and build a brighter future for our community.</p> <p>As a BCBA/ABA Behavior Support Specialist. . .</p> <p>You believe in creating an educational experience where students are able to see themselves reflected in the content of your class.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Direct Student Support & Service Delivery</p> <ul> <li>Provide 1:1 and small group ABA-based services aligned with student IEPs </li><li>Deliver behavior-related services as mandated by IEPs and maintain progress monitoring data </li><li>Support students in developing self-regulation, coping, and executive functioning skills </li><li>Collaborate with staff and families to ensure consistency in support across settings </li></ul> <p>IEP Development & Team Participation</p> <ul> <li>Attend IEP meetings as the designated behavior specialist or related service provider </li><li>Write measurable, data-driven behavioral goals and objectives for IEPs </li><li>Monitor and report on students' progress toward IEP goals using behavioral data </li><li>Consult with case managers to ensure behavioral accommodations and services are implemented with fidelity </li></ul> <p>Behavioral Assessment & Plan Development</p> <ul> <li>Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and write comprehensive Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) </li><li>Ensure plans are culturally responsive, legally compliant, and rooted in evidence-based practices </li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement and update BIPs as needed </li></ul> <p>Data Collection, Tracking, & Analysis</p> <ul> <li>Design systems for behavioral data collection across settings </li><li>Analyze trends and patterns to adjust supports and interventions at the individual and systems levels </li><li>Guide staff in collecting and interpreting behavioral data with accuracy and consistency </li></ul> <p>MTSS & School-Wide Support</p> <ul> <li>Provide leadership in implementing Tier 1-3 supports through the MTSS model </li><li>Analyze building-wide behavior data to identify needs and design proactive interventions </li><li>Participate in school-level problem-solving teams and serve as a resource for data-based decision-making </li></ul> <p>Staff Consultation & Coaching</p> <ul> <li>Provide consultation to general and special education staff around behavior management </li><li>Support the implementation of classroom-based strategies and behavior accommodations </li><li>Offer modeling and real-time feedback to build staff capacity in managing challenging behaviors </li></ul> <p>Professional Development & Training</p> <ul> <li>Lead trainings in trauma-informed care, positive behavior supports, de-escalation, and classroom management </li><li>Provide individual and group-based PD around Tier 1 behavior strategies and inclusive practices </li><li>Serve as a thought partner to administrators in aligning behavior systems with school priorities </li></ul> <p>Partnering with Students and Families</p> <ul> <li>Communicating proactively with students, families, and school administrators around behavioral concerns. </li><li>Responding promptly by telephone or e-mail to parent questions and concerns. </li></ul> <p>Building of School Culture</p> <ul> <li>Frequently communicating the school's mission to children and families. </li><li>Adhering to school academic and disciplinary protocols. </li><li>Assuming additional responsibilities if desired, as negotiated with the Senior Director of Special Education and Related Services. </li></ul> <p>Maintenance of Organizational Culture</p> <ul> <li>Actively pursuing professional development, inside and outside of the school. </li><li>Collaborating with other teachers and administrators to advance the school's mission. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications include:</p> <ul> <li>Required: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or equivalent credential </li><li>Preferred: Prior experience in a public school setting and working with students in grades 6-12, Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments, Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and school-based compliance standards, Experience with data systems and behavior progress monitoring tools </li></ul> <p>For more information, please visit our website at www.bostonprep.org.</p> <p>One Mission.
