<p>Monday - Thursday (7:30am - 4pm)</p> <p>Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, provides support to the clinical and administrative staff. Ensures attention to detail with duties that include but are not limited to: receptionist duties, answering the telephone, screening and triaging phone calls appropriately, managing and scheduling patient appointments, checking patients in and out, obtaining incoming referrals, verifying patient insurance information, obtaining insurance authorizations for imaging and medications, filing and faxing, completion of patient charges, assuring requisite materials are accurately prepared in advance, tracking of MRI orders.</p> <p>Education/Training</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent </li><li>Associate's degree in business preferred </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications and Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a fast-paced clinic setting. </li><li>Demonstrates ability to efficiently, effectively, and professionally multi-task in a dynamic environment. </li><li>Command of verbal and written English </li><li>Demonstrates proficiency in communication skills (both verbal and written) </li><li>Positive interpersonal communication skills and foster positive relationships across the work environment. </li><li>Previous medical office work experience in a high volume electronic medical record environment. </li><li>Strong organizational skills. </li><li>Computer literate. </li><li>Medical terminology. </li><li>Understanding of the referral and authorization process. </li><li>Knowledge of various insurance payers and guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications and Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Engaged in all patient satisfaction initiatives. </li><li>Continuously invested in continuous Quality Improvement and preventing errors from reaching the patient. </li><li>Must possess excellent computer skills which include Email, Outlook, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). </li><li>Familiarity with Cerner. </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Administrative support </li><li>Maintaining an efficient workflow in the clinic setting </li><li>Multitasking </li><li>Patient facing interactions </li><li>Scheduling </li><li>Answering the telephone </li><li>Data tracking and entry </li><li>Insurance referrals and authorizations </li></ul> <p>Other duties:</p> <p>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
