<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Executive Director of the Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD), provides executive administration and coordination services at the direction of the Board. The executive director advocates for persons who are developmentally disabled and their families.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Collaborate with state and federal agencies and voluntary associations, the Governor, and the Legislature</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement the BPDD State Plan</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise BPDD staff</p> </li><li> <p>Review legislation</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and monitor budgets, manage fiscal resources, and monitor administrative procedures.</p> </li></ul> <p>Special Requirement: Ability to travel statewide and nationally.</p> <p>For more information, please view the complete position description.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This classification is assigned to pay schedule/range 81-02. Starting salary for the executive director position will be between $83,200.00 and $111,092.80 annually depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 2-year career executive trial period may be required.</p> <p>Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan at the time of hire.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Due to the nature of the position, BPDD will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. BPDD does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.</p> <p>All employees are expected to live and work in Wisconsin. Certain positions may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>It is critically important that your application materials clearly describe your experience related to each of the stated job qualifications.</p> <p>Qualified applicants will have experience with each of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Public or government policy development and legislative processes pertaining to developmental disabilities including the Developmental Disabilities Act. </li><li>Developing and revising a multi-year operational plan. (e.g., 5-year state plan for an organization, multi-year operational budget for an organization, for state agencies or non-profits, etc.) </li><li>Managing program and/or project operations including developing budgets, working with budgetary constraints, analyzing organizational needs, developing, implementing, and evaluating program objectives, leading meetings, etc. </li><li>Establishing and maintaining working relationships with a variety of groups and individuals including legislators and other public officials, agency representatives, person with disabilities, private employers, stakeholder groups, etc. </li><li>Utilizing public advocacy methods and strategies. </li><li>Researching, interpreting, and applying laws, regulations, policies, procedures, or other complex materials or documents. </li><li>Serving in a leadership role with a focus on training, mentorship, providing guidance, motivating a team, etc. </li></ul> <p>Well-qualified applicants will also have experience with at least one of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Providing policy and strategic guidance to a board, council, executive leadership, etc. </li><li>Budget and policy analysis or advancing policy initiatives impacting programs designed to support people with developmental disabilities. </li><li>Public speaking such as acting as a primary spokesperson on behalf of an organization. </li><li>Performing working that impacts policy at a federal level. </li><li>Grant writing or similar fundraising. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>The steps to apply online are quick and easy!
