<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The University of Michigan-Flint Department of Theatre and Dance seeks energetic, detail-oriented students for employment in the department's costume shop. All UM-Flint students are welcome, preference given to current Theatre Design and Technology majors. The Department of Theatre & Dance considers these temporary part-time positions to be internships.</p> <p>Students will be working on actual productions and getting real, industry-quality hands-on experience while being supervised by professionals. Experiences like these can be listed on a resume for future jobs and graduate school applications, and are considered an important part of what it means to be a successful theatre and/or dance major.</p> <p>Responsibilities*</p> <p>The costume shop is responsible for building garments for the University's five main stage productions in the field of drama, musical theatre, and dance.</p> <p>The responsibilities for this position include:</p> <ul> <li>Garment construction </li><li>Laundry </li><li>Craft work </li><li>Stock organization/maintenance </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li>Must be a UM-Flint student </li><li>Sewing experience </li><li>Students must be interested in hands on learning </li><li>Availability on weekends and evenings during productions. </li></ul> <p>Modes of Work</p> <p>Onsite</p> <p>The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside the State of Michigan.</p> <p>Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
