Join us!</p> <p>Purpose of Job</p> <p>The SQE Lead Engineering Technician will supervise and assist the SQE Technician team in designing, implementing, and recording data from testing both current incoming product as well as samples of product from potential suppliers. They will define quality assurance metrics, and outline corrective actions for product that has failed testing in order to further develop a robust system of records. Additionally, the SQE Lead Engineering Technician role will play an important part in our company's product development process. This individual is responsible for conducting thorough testing before product launch to ensure it not only meets Interstates expectations, but also our client's needs.</p> <p>Job Components:</p> <p>Supervise daily activities and performance of the SQE Technicians. Work with the SQE Manager to recruit and hire SQE Technicians. Works independently or as a team in order to test all incoming vendor samples and warehouse samples. Creates detailed, comprehensive and well-structured testing plans for new and existing product. Writes and implements test programs for a variety of battery analyzing equipment. Is able to estimate, plan, prioritize, perform, and record detailed quality checks / tests of new and existing product. Updates numerous databases with accurate and specific data. Participates on and supports departmental and organizational based continuous improvement activities. Assists in development of special department projects with the direction of the SQE Management. Assists in maintaining the Quality Management system and is able to fill out needed documents to meet ISO regulations. Accept responsibility of training and preparing new employees for this position. Functions as a backup for SQE Technicians in their absence. Consults with SQE Management and other Technicians on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product quality.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Analytical abilities. (Problem solving/Analysis as well as Decision Making) Detailed technical skills and strong knowledge of QA methodologies. Strong battery knowledge in order to evaluate pass/fail testing as well as develop new testing procedures. Technical ability to operate sophisticated test equipment and record / analyze test data. Strong computer skills, and the ability to manage databases and testing regimes. Communication proficiency with vendors in order to negotiate settlements for product which did not meet IAB standards. Self-motivated and able to work independently, but also effectively lead direct reports. College Degree or four years of related work experience.</p> <p>Scope Data</p> <p>Ability to communicate in detail with customers, vendors, and coworkers. Ability to manage direct reports as well as work independently in order to effectively resolve workload fluctuation. Report with detailed progress of assigned tasks or projects. Make decisions on pass/fail of batteries and communicate requests for improvements to vendors</p> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Ability to prioritize daily work load, and perform multiple tasks as required. Ability to lift up to 75lbs. Ability to enter data into database, and communicate with vendors / customers via phone or email. Ability to safely attach batteries to testing equipment or charging station.
