<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Residential Advisor for Campus Engagement plays a vital role in</p> <p>enhancing student life through dynamic programming and student-centered support within the residential</p> <p>environment. This live-in role would be perfect for a student in a master's program in a related field! This</p> <p>position focuses on fostering a vibrant residential community by assisting with the planning and execution of</p> <p>residential procedures and operations. Additionally, the advisor contributes to residential staff efforts</p> <p>and participates in a week-long crisis response rotation, helping to create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive</p> <p>campus environment. The compensation package includes on campus housing and a $14,000 yearly stipend.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <p>Residence Life & Operational Coverage</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a live-in staff member within the residence halls. </li><li>Serve on a week-long crisis response rotation, responding to student concerns and incidents. </li><li>Support residence hall community-building efforts in collaboration with Resident Assistants. </li><li>Serve as an after-hours point of contact for housing-related concerns. </li></ul> <p>Campus Engagement & Programming</p> <p>? Support and advise the Student Activities Board (SAB) in planning and executing campus-wide</p> <p>events and traditions.</p> <p>? Assist with evening and weekend programming to increase student engagement.</p> <p>? Collaborate with the Director of Campus Life on major programs, homecoming activities, and</p> <p>late-night initiatives.</p> <p>? Provide on-site event support and logistical coordination as assigned.</p> <p>Student Support & Crisis Response</p> <ul> <li>Respond to student behavioral, safety, and wellness concerns using a student-centered approach. </li><li>Assist professional staff with documentation, referrals, and follow-up related to incidents. </li><li>Uphold university policies and contribute to a safe residential environment. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>None</p> <p>Minimum Job Qualifications</p> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <p>? Bachelor's degree required, active pursuit of a Master's preferred in Student Affairs, Higher</p> <p>Education, or a related field.</p> <p>? 2+ years of experience in student programming, leadership development, or housing and residence</p> <p>life preferred.</p> <p>? Strong organizational and communication skills.</p> <p>Certificates, Licenses or Registrations</p> <p>None</p> <p>Other Competencies (skills, abilities, behavior)</p> <p>Must have a philosophy that is consistent with the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the organization. Vision,</p> <p>commitment, and experience in achieving goals and pursuing excellence is critical. Strong oral and written</p> <p>presentation skills. Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team. Excellence in organization,</p> <p>decision-making, problem-solving and creating a collaborative environment. Ability to manage multiple projects</p> <p>simultaneously. Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English.</p> <p>? Knowledge of Student activities and engagement best practices strongly preferred.</p> <p>? Student work and leadership experience on a collegiate campus setting within a private institution or</p> <p>college within Higher Education, preferred</p> <p>? Knowledge of the trends in engagement and student attractions and partnership building for Higher</p> <p>Education. Event planning experience is a plus.</p> <p>? Ability to produce training materials in a variety of formats using the latest industry tools.</p> <p>? Knowledge of modern computing, networking and communications systems and skill in use of technology</p> <p>applications.</p> <p>? Ability to adapt and flexibly serving various university constituent groups is key.</p> <p>? Familiarity with copyright and intellectual property standards for course development.</p> <p>? Knowledge of ADA requirements in collegiate facilities.</p> <p>? Effective communication both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Writes and presents</p> <p>information in a clear and concise way. Interprets and understands written information and is able to</p> <p>listen attentively to verbal and non-verbal cues that lead to a deeper understanding. Must be fluent in</p> <p>English.</p> <p>? Be innovative, strategic, and leverage technology to assist with building, developing, and facilitating a</p> <p>successful residential education program</p> <p>? Work cooperatively with others and demonstrates professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous</p> <p>behavior when interacting with others. Capable of interacting pleasantly and positively with other to meet</p> <p>student, faculty, and staff expectations, and provide follow up with customers.</p> <p>? Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines</p> <p>and initiate follow-up action as necessary. Attention to detail is essential.</p> <p>? Ability to explain complex technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of technology experience</p> <p>? Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with</p> <p>the demands of the worksite.</p> <p>? Ability to perform duties in a diverse work environment.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours/day. Some lifting (up to 25 pounds occasionally), bending, andcarrying.</p> <p>The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.</p>
