<p>Job Description:</p> <p>INTERDISTRICT SCHOOL FOR ARTS AND COMMUNICATION</p> <p>BUILDING SUBSTITUTE TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Reports to: School Principal</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>This position reports directly to the School Principal. Performs general office/student support duties and any combination of the below listed essential duties and responsibilities in the classroom to assist teaching staff and Administration</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <p>Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Actual work assignments may vary from depending on the directions of the school administration. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Instructs and guides students to reinforce English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and other skills </li><li>Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement assigned programs </li><li>Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs </li><li>Utilizes classroom behavioral management systems to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task </li><li>Monitors students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs and other related non-instructional areas </li><li>Assists students in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, achievement of IEP objectives, etc. </li><li>Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum undergraduate degree preferred </li><li>Communication skills necessary to interact with families, students, staff and visitors of ISAAC. </li><li>Experience working with secondary students or students who are at-risk, educationally disadvantaged, and/or possess a variety of disabilities preferred. </li></ul> <p>ISAAC is an equal opportunity employer.
