<p>Position Title</p> <p>Lead Certified Pharmacy Technician, Outpatient Pharmacy</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Purpose & Scope:</p> <p>Under the supervision of a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Supervisor performs routine outpatient pharmacy functions including medication preparation, inventory accountability, and medication distribution for discharge patients in various settings including assigned nursing units. Lead pharmacy technician provides direction for daily operations and assume responsibility for integrating and monitoring standard pharmacy policies to maintain continuous workflow and quality within the service. Partakes in the recruitment, training and supervision of new hires and students and is responsible for providing technical support in all aspects of the implementation of a safe, efficient, cost efficient and patient focused medication distribution system.</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>High School diploma or equivalent is required.</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>Three (3) years experience as a Pharmacy Technician in required.</p> <p>Certification/Licensure:</p> <p>Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required.</p>
