<p>Train with CAD & Rapid Prototyping Teams</p> <p>The CAD & Craft Intern will work alongside experienced Computer Aided Designers (CAD) while participating in the development of new jewelry projects and learn how to take a 3D model from a digital to physical state through various 3D printing processes.</p> <p>This position is fully onsite and based out of our Jewelry Design and Innovation Workshop (JDIW). The rate for this position is $25 per hour.</p> <p>Activities/Resources:</p> <ul> <li>Develop key skills to accurately model jewelry objects and prepare them for casting. </li><li>Learn how to design for manufacturing and maintain design intent throughout collection development. </li><li>Participate in all stages of prototype creation through product release to supplier. </li><li>Assist in building a digital reference library. </li><li>Track project timelines to ensure proper execution of tasks in a timeline manner. </li><li>Abide by office and workshop best practices including adhering to health and safety requirements at all times. </li></ul> <p>Evidence: Understanding of jewelry design and development process.</p> <p>Train with Craft in Shop</p> <p>Activities/Resources:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the development of new jewelry pieces by participating in brainstorming sessions. </li><li>Learn and apply various jewelry-making techniques, including cast cleaning, filing, and polishing. </li><li>Aid in maintaining prototyping equipment such as 3D printers, laser engravers, and CNC milling machines. </li><li>Participate in quality control and inspection processes, ensuring that prototypes meet Tiffany Quality expectations and design specifications. </li><li>Support the team with administrative tasks such as organizing files, maintaining inventory, and preparing incoming shipments. </li><li>Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient project workflows and meet deadlines. </li><li>Continuously learn and stay up to date on industry trends, materials, and technologies. </li></ul> <p>Evidence: Understanding the jewelry prototyping and manufacturing process.</p> <p>Safety</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate safety leadership by adherence to workplace safety policies and procedures. Recognize and positively reinforce good safety behaviors while delivering immediate, specific and constructive feedback to employees who demonstrate unsafe work behavior. </li></ul> <p>Evaluation methods:</p> <ul> <li>Daily communication with CAD Designers, Model Makers and Management </li><li>Weekly meetings with CAD and Shop Management for evaluation and feedback </li><li>Complete tasks assigned in a timely manner </li><li>Presentation on experience and outcomes to Senior Management </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Currently enrolled in a jewelry program with bench and CAD curriculum </li><li>Knowledge in Rhino </li><li>Bench experience </li></ul>
