Principles, methods, and objectives of OT treatment, services, techniques of skeletal anatomy, neuromuscular function and dysfunction, kinesiology and OT modalities </li><li>Knowledge for identifying and analyzing areas of developmental sensory-motor dysfunction </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of the special education process including, but not limited to, student evaluation, IEP development, and student progress monitoring </li><li>Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired (e.g., bilingual skills, diverse experiences, etc.) </li></ul> <p>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>To provide professional consultation services and professional development for teachers and other staff members on recommendations for best practices in occupational therapy. </li><li>To provide direct occupational therapy services as identified by student's IEP/504 plan to improve access to educational environments. </li><li>To administer OT assessments to determine a student's level of functioning relative to their age in the areas of fine/gross motor skills development, sensory motor integration, self-care, and activities for daily living. </li></ul> <p>To write assessment reports that identify the student's needs and proposed treatment strategies as well as for purposes of IEP development.</p> <ul> <li>To plan and work collaboratively within the district's Motor Team (including the Physical Therapist). </li><li>To communicate with families of students who have an OT treatment program for home-based follow through, if needed </li><li>To administer OT programs as needed in terms of equipment recommendations and other relevant educational materials. </li><li>To adapt equipment to assure proper positioning and to enhance functional performance of the student. </li><li>To help support the District's competency-based educational model as it relates to the role of an OT. </li><li>To perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Integrated Services. </li></ul> <p>Westminster Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
