<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Come join us in the Conservatory Library! Provide excellent customer service to users of the library, overseeing the circulation desk, and enforcing library policy. Maintain library collections via shelving, sorting, inventorying, and retrieving items.</p> <p>Students are expected to work a minimum of 5 hours per week and often work an average of 5-8 hours per week. Shifts may include mornings, evenings, and/or weekends. Students with evening availability are preferred but not required.</p> <p>First year students from both College and Conservatory are encouraged to apply!</p> <p>Any further questions, please reach out to our circulation staff at ccirc@oberlin.edu. We would be happy to answer them.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Checking in/out library materials </li><li>Retrieve materials for users </li><li>Answers questions (in-person and via phone) and makes referrals to other departments as needed. </li><li>Enforce library policy </li><li>May be responsible for opening and closing the library </li><li>Support patrons in using library equipment and applications </li><li>Reshelving, shifting, and retrieving materials </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must be enrolled at Oberlin College </li><li>Attention to detail and strong organizational skills </li><li>Able to communicate effectively in both written and oral form </li><li>Clear sense of responsibility for fulfilling scheduled work assignments </li><li>Must be able to bend, reach, climb a stepstool, lift and carry books </li><li>Must be able to complete tasks independently or as part of a team </li><li>Work study award (desired) </li><li>Previous customer service or library experience </li></ul> <p>Quick Link for Posting https://jobs.oberlin.edu/postings/17018 Compensation</p> <p>12/hour</p> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants</p>
