As an Emergency RN at St. John Medical Center in Longview, WA, you'll play a pivotal role in a collaborative team, all while enjoying the natural beauty and friendly charm of the Pacific Northwest.</p> <p>We currently having the following position available:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time Night shift Emergency RN </li><li>Work three 12 hour shifts each week, 7:00pm - 7:30am </li><li>37-bed Emergency Department, a Level III Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center. </li></ul> <p>St. John Medical Center is a 177-bed acute care facility that offers the intimacy of a community hospital paired with the resources of PeaceHealth, a non-profit healthcare system. Located just 45 minutes north of Portland, Longview combined with sister city Kelso, are a picturesque community of 60,000, blending natural beauty with a welcoming atmosphere. Enjoy nearby outdoor adventures - from hiking and mountain exploration to coastal retreats.</p> <p>Current wage range for this position is $50.39 - $74.77, hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement</p> <p>We also offer you:</p> <ul> <li>Up to $7 night shift differential </li><li>Additional compensation for BSN, MSN, DPN and specialty nursing certification </li><li>Relocation Assistance </li><li>Hiring Bonus </li><li>A professional nurse advancement program with pay incentives </li><li>Tuition reimbursement and CE </li><li>A comprehensive benefits package effective the first of the month following start date </li></ul> <p>Position Details:</p> <p>Provides professional nursing direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.</p> <ul> <li>Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs. </li><li>Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards. </li><li>Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence. </li><li>Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development. </li><li>Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program. </li><li>May assist with Trauma case review in conjunction with the Trauma registrar and/or Trauma Coordinator </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing </li><li>Two years recent Emergency RN experience required, may consider related experience for some of this requirement, or will consider recent completion of emergency nursing training program. </li><li>Current Washington Registered Nurse licensure or Multistate License required by date of hire. </li><li>Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire. </li><li>ACLS within 6 months of hire. </li><li>TNCC and either PALS or ENPC required within one year of hire. </li><li>Must demonstrate independent management of cardiac, complex med/surg, pediatric, and trauma patients. </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs. (Required) </li><li>Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment. (Required) </li><li>Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures. (Required) </li><li>Basic computer skills. (Required) </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Lifting</p> <ul> <li>Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH). </li><li>Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures. </li><li>Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts). </li><li>Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally. </li><li>Ability to move around area with frequent sitting. </li><li>Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently. </li><li>Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently. </li></ul> <p>Environmental Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. </li><li>Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. </li></ul> <p>Mental/Visual</p> <ul> <li>Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). </li><li>Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. </li></ul> <p>This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement.
