<p>The Department of Earth Science seeks a student research assistant to support a collaborative project with the University of Buea, Cameroon. The project examines climate risks and resilience measures across Cameroon's coastal, highland, and savanna regions. </p> <p>The position is expected to run for 15 weeks during Summer 2026, with approximately 10 hours per week.</p> <p>The student will</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist with literature review.</p> </li><li> <p>Data collection and organization.</p> </li><li> <p>GIS mapping.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic data analysis.</p> </li><li> <p> Preparation of project reports, figures, tables, and presentations. </p> </li><li> <p>The student may also help compare climate risks and community resilience strategies across the three regions. </p> </li><li> <p>Must be a current UVU student</p> </li><li> <p>Must have GIS and Programing skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>interest in climate change, environmental science, geography, GIS, or sustainability; </p> </li><li> <p>Basic skills in Excel, GIS, or data organization </p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail.</p> </li><li> <p>Good communication skills.</p> </li></ul>
