Eligibility and Employer Sponsored Plans can be found within each of the links offered.</p> <p>Department Information</p> <p>Job City & State Raleigh, NC Department</p> <p>System Information</p> <p>Classification Title Temporary-Service Maintenance Working Title UTS - Temporary Utility Plant Operator at NC State</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Requirements and Preferences</p> <p>Work Schedule Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Other Work/Responsibilities</p> <p>Other duties as needed.</p> <p>Minimum Experience/Education</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li></ul> <p>Department Required Skills</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations. </li><li>Ability to monitor the status of equipment and operation. </li><li>Requires ability to inspect equipment or materials to identify the cause of errors, problems, or defects. </li><li>Effectively and safely complete lockout-tag-outs in accordance with NCSU policy. </li><li>Ability to identify non-standard or more complex problems with equipment and systems through inspection and maintenance. </li><li>Must be able to resolve most issues or make recommendations for responding to more complex situations. </li><li>Ability to understand and respond to standard questions. </li><li>Ability to identify non-standard questions and determine the appropriate resource to consult or respond. </li><li>Cross-train to operate and maintain steam boilers, electrical centrifugal chillers, steam-driven turbine chillers, cooling towers, auxiliary equipment, and water treatment systems within the steam generation system. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education</p> <ul> <li>Preferred experience in operating and monitoring steam boilers and auxiliary steam/hot water equipment to ensure consistent and safe delivery of steam and hot water. </li><li>Experience operating and monitoring chillers (electric and steam turbine driven), cooling towers, and auxiliary chilled water equipment to maintain chilled water supply. </li><li>Experience performing routine inspections and maintenance of plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. </li><li>Experience assisting with monitoring and adjusting equipment to maintain emissions within regulatory compliance. </li><li>Experience supporting water treatment processes for steam and chilled water systems. </li><li>Ability to respond to alarms, troubleshoot operational issues, and escalate concerns to the Shift Supervisor as needed. </li><li>Experience maintaining accurate logs and records of plant operations and maintenance activities. </li></ul> <p>Required License or Certification</p> <ul> <li>NC Drivers License </li></ul> <p>Valid NC Driver's License required?
