<p>></p> <p>Administrative Assistant</p> <p>Joplin Airport</p> <p>Requires successful post-offer completion of a background investigation, physical exam, and drug test (including marijuana/THC) as a condition of employment with the City of Joplin.</p> <p>Primary Purpose</p> <p>Performs a variety of routine, complex and specialized administration support activities to support a specific division or department.</p> <p>Schedule</p> <p>8AM - 5PM, Monday through Friday</p> <p>11 paid Holidays and 2 floating holidays per year.</p> <p>Salary & Benefits</p> <p>Starting at $15.037 per hour, $31,277 annually.</p> <p>The City provides health insurance for employees and their immediate family members. The City pays 100% of the premium for the employees and a portion of the premium for family coverage.</p> <p>Additional Benefits include:</p> <ul> <li>2 weeks of vacation accrual per year. </li><li>11 paid holidays per year + 3 paid "floating holidays" per year </li><li>Free life insurance to the employee, with supplemental options. </li><li>Dental insurance starting at $9.02/month with fully covered preventive services. </li><li>Vision insurance starting at $1.44/month. </li><li>Tuition reimbursement, longevity pay, Care Leave and sick leave buy-back programs. </li><li>Missouri LAGERS Retirement - employees do not pay into it; employee is fully vested after only 5 years of employment. </li><li>Access to 457 retirement plans with several benefits over traditional 401k plans. </li><li>Free library cards & gym access, fun employee events, and more! </li></ul> <p>Floating holiday accruals depend on employee's start date.</p> <p>For more benefits information, please click here.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <p>Security Related Duties</p> <ul> <li>Process and maintain security badging operations for over 350 personnel with access to the airport. </li><li>Create and register badges with the appropriate level of access. </li><li>Provide security information, including fingerprints, to the appropriate clearing agency for background checks and enroll subjects in a rap back program if applicable. </li><li>Administer security access training and testing as appropriate. </li><li>Escort non-badged visitors through secure areas as appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Airport Board Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Prepare Airport Board Member folders for all monthly Airport Board meetings. </li><li>Type and submit Airport Board minutes to the City Clerk. </li><li>Submit Board Agenda before every meeting. </li></ul> <p>Clerical Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Receive invoices and request purchase orders. </li><li>Assist in submitting Council Bills for approval. </li><li>Maintain janitorial and operational supplies and reorder as necessary. </li><li>Process fuel reports for airport operations as well as other tenants including SkyWest Airlines, Hertz, Avis, and Joplin Police Department. </li><li>Schedule contractors and vendors for repairs and deliveries as needed. </li><li>Maintain a record of purchases and projects within the budget spreadsheet. </li><li>Create fuel fobs as appropriate within the gasboy system. </li><li>Receives and responds to customer service issues and complaints. </li><li>Receives and responds to hangar and other tenant questions and concerns. </li><li>Update and maintain the Joplin Airport social media platforms including Facebook and the FlyJoplin website. </li><li>Performs inventory audits for fixed assets as required. </li><li>Prepare and maintain the monthly Joplin Regional Airport traffic report. </li></ul> <p>Multiple Agency Interaction</p> <ul> <li>Maintains and updates Airport Security Plan and coordinates with Transportation Security Administration officials to meet TSA security requirements. </li><li>Maintains and updates Airport Certification Manual and coordinates with Federal Aviation Administration officials to meet FAA administrative and regulatory requirements under Part 139 of the FAA regulations. </li><li>Coordinates with multiple regulatory agencies including the Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Agency, US Department of Agriculture, Missouri Department of Conservation, and others as required to meet administrative and regulatory requirements. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge of: Basic bookkeeping procedures; Missouri Uniform License Examination System for some positions; City and departmental operating policies and procedures of the work unit to which assigned; general office procedures including filing systems, formats for various reports and correspondence; operation of standard office equipment and machines; City's money handling policies; Microsoft Office Suite.</p> <p>Skill in: Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with City employees and the public; recording and transcribing meeting minutes; operating standard office equipment and machines including computers, FAX machines, copiers, calculators, and telephones; operating keyboard to type correspondence and/or enter information into various computerized databases; preparing various records, reports, and correspondence using appropriate format; maintaining filing and records systems; providing customer service to staff and the public; Microsoft Office Suite.</p> <p>Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Advanced coursework in Office Management, Office Practices, or closely related discipline is preferred and may be substituted for one year of required experience.</p> <p>Experience: Two years of administrative support or related work experience required.</p> <p>Licenses and Certifications: Possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license.</p> <p>Physical Demands, Requirements, and Working Conditions</p> <p>This is primarily an office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in-person and over the telephone. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 20 pounds.</p> <p>Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset members of the public or their representatives while enforcing departmental policies and procedures.</p> <p>Miscellaneous Requirements</p> <p>Requires successful post-offer completion of a background investigation, physical exam, and drug test as a condition of employment with the City of Joplin.
