<p>The Makerspace Specialist is a creative, hands-on leader who will run our afternoon Makerspace for 4th - 10th grade campers. This Seasonal Part-Time role will be responsible for leading projects using our Maple Woodshop curriculum, dreaming up cool makerspace activities, and helping campers explore 3D printing.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan, organize and facilitate small and large group activities focusing on woodworking, 3D printing, and other hands-on projects. </li><li>Direct supervision of children ranging in ages from 9 -12; all groups are divided by age with appropriate ratios </li><li>Ensure that the site of your activity is kept clean, sanitized, organized, and free of litter </li><li>Help groups move between activities based on their assigned weekly schedule </li><li>Work together with camp leadership and Counselors to engage campers and maintain a positive, fun environment </li><li>Actively participate in all camp activities, including special events/guests </li><li>Assist camp leadership with activity planning, preparation and facilitation when appropriate </li><li>Identify and respond to camper behavior issues, working with Counselors or Unit Leaders </li><li>Communicate with leadership about participant's experiences and report concerns to camp leadership </li><li>Know and understand all emergency procedures associated with the camp program </li><li>Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas, including but not limited to being responsible for your campers' safety and their whereabouts at all times </li><li>Be flexible and fill in where needed </li></ul> <p>Salary</p> <ul> <li>$15 - $20/hour based on experience </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Work hours: 12 - 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday with Optional Fridays </li><li>Must be at least 18 years old </li><li>1-3 years' experience working with children and in a similar capacity </li><li>Experience with woodworking or willingness to be trained </li><li>Experience with 3D printing or willingness and ability to train yourself with our equipment. </li><li>Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities </li><li>Ability to work with others in a team environment </li><li>Ability to accomplish tasks with independence, motivation and responsibility </li><li>Ability to resolve conflicts and creatively solve problems </li><li>Must be able to obtain background clearances, FBI fingerprinting, and child abuse clearances. </li></ul>
