<p>About the Role:</p> <p>The Non Union Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the facility. This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure all areas meet established standards of hygiene and appearance. The janitor will work independently or as part of a team to complete daily cleaning schedules, respond to urgent cleaning needs, and support facility operations. Attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety protocols are essential to prevent hazards and promote a positive experience for all building occupants. Ultimately, the janitor contributes to the overall functionality and professionalism of the workplace by ensuring that all spaces are orderly and well-maintained.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required. </li><li>Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. </li><li>Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies and their safe use. </li><li>Reliable attendance and punctuality. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in a commercial or institutional cleaning environment. </li><li>Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards. </li><li>Ability to operate floor cleaning machines and other specialized equipment. </li><li>Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and coordinate with team members. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal across all assigned areas. </li><li>Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas to maintain high standards of hygiene. </li><li>Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper in restrooms and other designated locations. </li><li>Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly. </li><li>Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, following manufacturer guidelines and safety procedures. </li><li>Assist with setup and cleanup for special events or meetings as needed. </li><li>Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies while performing duties. </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <p>The janitor uses their knowledge of cleaning techniques and chemical handling daily to ensure all areas are hygienic and safe.
