<p>Essential Duties</p> <ol> <li>Provides clinical supervision to trainees as well as staff members.2. Performs programmatic duties as directed by the Chief of Mental health and Counseling.3. Plans, coordinates and implements individual, group, and couples' therapy for students in University outpatient clinic. Provides family meetings as appropriate.4. Conducts patient evaluations and assesses patients' acceptability for psychotherapy programs and develops initial disposition planning.5. Establishes positive relationships with patients in order to administer the appropriate treatment.6. Manages and provides therapy for complex cases involving patients with significant mental health concerns.7. Maintains patients' charts and reports.8. Participates in mental health 24-hour emergency coverage.9. Provides educational and consultation services to undergraduate residential colleges and professional schools.10. Provides mental health outreach to Yale community.11. Develops materials for educational programs and seminars for professional staff. 12. Interacts with internal contacts such as patients, patients' families, clinicians, medical staff, and administrators regarding treatment of individual patients and implementation of clinical programs.13. Assesses and evaluates the purpose and value of psychological testing and treatment and recommends changes to treatment plans. Analyzes data and psychological testing results.14. May perform other duties as assigned. </li></ol> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <p>Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and three years of experience providing clinical care post-licensure.</p> <p>Background Check Requirements</p> <p>All candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening for this position, which may include motor vehicle, DOT certification, drug testing and credit checks based on the position description and job requirements. For additional information on the background check requirements and process visit "Learn about background checks" under the Applicant Support Resources section of Careers on the It's Your Yale website.</p> <p>Position Focus:</p> <p>The Department of Psychology and Yale School of Medicine seeks a licensed (or license eligible) clinical psychologist to provide expert mental health care through the Transitions Clinic Network. This position is full-time and includes the provision of direct clinical care to patients, and for interested candidates, opportunities to engage in support and supervision to psychology practicum students. The psychologist will provide clinical services in the Transitions Clinic Network, which serves formerly incarcerated individuals. Patients present for a wide variety of mental health diagnoses. The psychologist will carry a caseload of patients and will be involved in providing direct clinical care including biopsychosocial assessment, individual therapy, and group therapy (note, groups are based in halfway houses). The psychologist also will help develop informational handouts and conduct trainings with various stakeholders.</p> <p>The successful candidate will possess exceptional knowledge and skills in the evaluation and treatment of adults and in the provision of individual therapy and psychological assessment. Strong candidates will also possess expertise in the provision of evidence-based treatments (such as CBT, DBT, ACT) for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders.
